Hosting Alert: Server Outage Sunday 29th April 2007

Over the weekend, the Data Centre hosting SM2's web servers will be relocating to a state of the art facility at Brisbane Technology Park. The upgraded Data Centre facility will ensure the on-going delivery of high quality hosting services for our customers.

As you are currently hosting a site with SM2, using software that resides on a SM2 server or have a web server co-located, please be advised that during the relocation your site or server will be offline for a short period of time. We have been advised by the Data Centre that the estimated downtime will be approximately 2 hours on Sunday 29th April 2007 at 2AM AEST. However, we will be doing our best to limit the downtime by any means possible.

If your site or server is inaccessible after the above times please contact us immediately to resolve the issue.

The new facility offers many extra features and benefits for you as a  SM2 hosting customer. Just some of these featues include:

  • Uninterrupted power supply and Diesel power generators

  • Fire detection system with sensors taking underfloor, return-air and ceiling samples combined with Gas Suppression System

  • Air-cooled based air conditioning systems for increased redundancy and to eliminate the potential problems associated with water based chillers

  • Environmental Monitoring Units to monitor temperature and humidity in addition to the A/C's internal monitoring

  • Raised Access Floors

  • Next generation racks/cabinets with each cabinet being individually locked and not keyed alike

  • Video surveillance with internal and external monitoring/recording

  • and much more...
